He's kind of neat, but I don't find him all that impressive. As someone who ran Otohiko the innate weapon can frequently be oddly annoying as it tends to only be extra force and mild protection. Buuut, this is a different environment and Spider Kensai is indeed different from Dragon and his ability sure is better than Otohiko's was imo, maybe he'll be better than I think, not that i think him bad. |

I'm really liking the whole "monk-sai stuff does more than one thing per card" elements of this whole edition. It actually feels like you're kung-fu-ing your opponent to death. This guy is no exception, especially considering I would have been happy with either of these effects by itself (though not on a rare obviously). |

on one hand: 4 chi monk.
on the other hand there's no may clause in creating the weapon token. CURSE YOU DESIGN TEAM! You really didn't want to make it easy to play One with Flame did you? |

This guy, actually may have sealed the deal as far as everyone thinking I'm insane at work goes. I laughed SO hard I almost pee'd myself. This guy is such a 3 of I may cheat and make him a 4 of. I can see where everyone is like "ohs nos, i have to attach 1f weapon?" but here's my take on it! I've played so many games and maybe seen one or two weapons. This guy auto protects himself from peasant vengeance and so many other cards. Not to mention you could simply move the sword around if you wanted to with holdings and regions. No complaints here. And the fact hes Oni means he's nonhuman and full of badassery. That's all one word, for future reference. Might I also point out ( I guess there's no "might" about it... ) he's 8g cost, not the usual 7g. Which means, a more solid gold cost can be focused on. I find myself planning for 7g monks to pop up, but Momiji is our powerhouse. This guy is 8g like him, and is also nutstarded. ( Once more, one word. ) The next scheme I build will be much more evenly based and I guarentee more happiness from monk kensai players with this set. |

N00b question: the honor loss on this card, is it a cost for bringing him into play, or a cost for attaching the weapon token? |

The honor loss is an effect. |

as i think its the effect of bringing the card into play. But thats not important for us, because we lose no honor from own cards o.o |

It ought to work as a range bonus, but don't quote me on it.
Another interesting note, an Aobozu is another Japanese folk lore creature. It's pretty vague and there isn't much description beyond physical, it's supposed to be a one eyed, inexperienced priest according to wikkipedia. |
