two spuds for two gold? yes please. Can't wait to find out what this whole mess about the dragonfly is all about...especially with the herald info about the new learn to play box

There was actually a fiction that explained this back during the first war of dark fire. The burning Yobanjin were pressing down from the north and I believe the vilage was pretty much abandoned except Hida Kaoru and (Daigotsu) Gyoken were around evacuating peasants (I believe they did this seperately though). Gyoken offered a place of safety and, well, this was presumably the end result. Wish I could remember the title of the story.

So the ultimate stupid hand of 3 x this card with 3 x Call Forth the Dead = 9 Undead for 12g in one turn granted you have 3 Shugenja's to bow.

I'm trying to imagine the look on an opponents face when you have nothing but holdings in your provinces, 3 shuggies out and pulled something like that.

This card absolutely replaces Call Forth the Dead, which was a staple in my SE breeder but never made the cut this arc. It's nice to see a counter to Claw and Shell previewed in the same set. Maybe breeder won't take the giant backwards leap this set was shaping up to be. Smile

p.s. The only thing better than corrupt Dragonflys will be undead corrupt Dragonflys! Shocked

From all the previewed cards - thanks Shingen! -, this is the one that I like the most. Two zombies for 2 Gold and a bowed shugenja is very nice, especially since we have either cheap shugenja like Chuda Otsu or those who aren't meant for battle anyway (Chuda Seikai).

The card is also very flavourful, because it corresponds to a Dragonfly who offered his soul to Jigoku in order to allow the Dark Oracle of Void, a former Dragonfly, to smite the attacking Yobanjin army. I had hoped for the Dark Oracle to be on the artwork or in the flavour text, but we can't have it all.

I haven't tested this card yet, but adding it to a Breeder deck is very intriguing, even if Call Forth the Dead is normally cut in most recent Breeders. But this card is better.
